Graduate Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Graduate Engineer will prepare the design of new public capital development projects. The job assignment includes, but is not limited to assistance in planning, organizing, directing, and participating in the work of the Capital Projects Division including survey, design, drafting, and construction inspection. Work also includes assisting the Project Engineer in administrative and technical responsibilities for all in-house and consultant design / construction projects and studies. Supervision is exercised by employees appointed by the Project Engineer of this division.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience :

• Graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Registered as an Engineering-In-Training in the State of Texas within 24-months of employment preferred.

Special Requirements :

Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license or higher.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is light and requires exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required : balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking, and walking.
