Summary :
The Cardiac Monitor Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms of patients, identifying and reporting arrhythmias, and supporting clinical staff in maintaining patient safety and care. This role ensures timely recognition and communication of changes in cardiac rhythm to the healthcare team.
Responsibilities :
1. Monitor Cardiac Rhythms : Continuously observes and analyzes cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitors for assigned patients. Identifies and records patient’s rhythm every 8 hours.
2. Identify Abnormalities : Recognize arrhythmias, heart blocks, and other cardiac irregularities, promptly reporting significant changes to the nursing staff

4. Communication : Communicates to nursing staff as necessary in regard to proper lead placement, battery changes, verifying of cardiac rhythms and need for escalation of care. Ability to call code / RRT when a life-threatening dysrhythmia is identified.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.
7. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Education : HS GRAD / EQUIVALENT;
Other Information : Successful completion of the t2-day EKG interpretation class.
Must obtain a passing score of 80% or higher on the EKG interpretation exam within 90 days of higher
