EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s degree and experience with children or equivalent combination of education and experience with children. Must complete pre-employment testing.

Plans,promotes, and presentscreative and innovativeprogramsthatmeet the needs offamilies andchildren,birth through agetwelve,including story times, homeschool programs, and other specialevents and summer reading activitiesIncorporatesThePalmetto Basics andEveryChild Ready to Read concepts into programsand environments for children ages 0-5Tracksand submits program statisticsActivelyengages the public duringcommunity outreachprogramsin thelocal area schools,childcarecenters,orother publicspaces orspecial eventsResponsiblefor maintaining an attractivechildren’s area in the library includingcollections, displays, signage and bulletin boardsParticipatesin department meetings, assigned committee meetings, online discussions, andbook reviewsProvidessuperior customer service when assistingpatrons of all ages withinformationand reader’s advisoryrequests, computers, digitaldevices, and other library equipmentCompletesregulartraining related to children’s services andotherlibrary workRemainsaware of safety and securityat all timesSubstitutesfor other programs, departments, and branches as neededKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :
