Newport Coffee House is a small team of individuals that share a passion for coffee roasting and baking. We have three locations : Roastery in Glenview, Bakery / Coffee Shop in Evanston, and Coffee Shop in Bannockburn. Baked goods have always been an important part of what we offer. Baker

We have a passion for excellence and are constantly trying to improve. Our current pastry offering includes, e.g., croissants, scones, muffins, quiches, together with our own Swedish Knot and Cardamom Bun. We are now looking for a new team member who has experience in this kind of baking and that can join our team of bakers on our future journey.

Job requirements and role description

• Previous experience with artisan baking with a similar pastry offering
• Experience of laminated dough and bread baking
• Understanding on how to optimize production processes to achieve the highest quality and consistency of products
• Inventory management and purchasing of ingredients and supplies
• Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation
• Able to communicate and collaborate with co-workers in a respectful, helpful and efficient manner. Leading by example by working side-by-side with team members, including supporting bake-off early mornings as needed
