The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of facility residents, employees, visitors and guests.
General Duties:
Respond to all facility emergencies/codes in a timely manner and facilitate the resolution as needed
Ensure cameras are monitored, guests and visitors are signed in, resident safety checks are performed as scheduled and emergency response is timely and appropriate for the situation
Investigate all allegations of reports of missing items from residents, in cooperation with the nursing staff, families and local law enforcement authorities
Investigate suspicious activities or possessions of employees, visitors and/or residents
Coordinate efforts with the Maintenance and Housekeeping departments to resolve safety hazards or issues of non-compliance as identified
Oversee incoming and outgoing mail functions
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
Remove wrongdoers and trespassers from the facility as needed
Secure all exits, doors and windows throughout the facility
Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of safety and security practices, procedures and guidelines
Ability to manage department staff and function as a team player
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to meet departmental objectives utilizing critical thinking skills
