Classification : Certified
Title : Instructional Technology Specialist
Job Goal : The Instructional Technology Specialist provides training and support to teachers in grades K-12 and facilitates technology integration in the classroom
Minimum Qualifications :
- Minimum six years in K-12 Education
- Master’s Degree in Education
- AZ Teaching Certificate
- AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Core Job Functions :
- Curriculum Integration
- Create and distribute training materials to campuses
- Develop and implement technology strategies supporting Chandler Unified School District curriculum
- Assist teachers in creating an environment that develops current technology skills
- Model, demonstrate and facilitate appropriate use of technology that assists teachers with moving their practice forward and improving student achievement
- Collaborate with staff to develop lessons for technology integration
- Develop methods to promote teacher collaboration within the District on 21st Century skills / curriculum / projects
- Create and maintain a District site for technology resource collections and information
- Forms of instruction will include :
- Coaching teachers in their classrooms to support innovative and effective technology integration
- With teachers in computer lab setting
- With teachers using portable labs
- With teachers in small groups to assist in developing and implementing multimedia / technology projects
- With teachers for instruction on specific applications and appropriate integration techniques of those applications
- With teachers to assist with instructional technology and 21st Century classroom resources
- With administrators in utilizing assessments (to include Federal Programs data points) and information resources
- Professional Development classes at District and site level for CUSD staff
- Leadership
- Maintain proficiency of current technologies
- Develop awareness and uses for emerging technologies
- Develop and execute software / hardware implementation strategies
- Attend and participate in meetings as assigned
- Assist with grant writing where technology is an intended purchase with technology funds
- Attend conferences, seminars, webinars, and workshops when designated
- Communication
- Disseminate information related to technology (emails, staff meetings, newsletters)
- Communicate with administrators about campus technology trends and training needs
