Build a commercial insurance book without starting from zero.

Farmers Insurance District Office Scottsdale & Greater Phoenix is looking for an experienced commercial producer OR proven B2B salesperson who wants to build a substantial commercial insurance practice throughout the Phoenix Metro area.

In addition to developing your own clients through prospecting, networking, referrals, and business development, you will have the opportunity to work with established Farmers agency owners to uncover commercial insurance opportunities within their existing books of business.

Our agencies already serve thousands of households throughout the Valley, many of whom are also business owners. Your role is to help identify those opportunities, develop the relationship, and build a substantial recurring commercial book.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage your own commercial insurance book of business
• Prospect for new business through networking, referrals, outbound activity, and local business development
• Partner with Farmers agency owners to identify commercial opportunities within existing customer books
• Conduct business insurance reviews and uncover cross-sell opportunities
• Develop relationships with business owners throughout Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix
• Build referral partnerships with CPAs, Realtors, lenders, attorneys, payroll providers, and other business professionals
• Quote and sell Businessowners Policies, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Commercial Property, and related commercial products
• Maintain a consistent pipeline of new commercial opportunities
• Follow up with prospects and manage opportunities through the sales process
• Cross-sell and round commercial accounts when additional coverage needs are identified
• Build long-term customer relationships focused on retention and renewals
• Utilize Farmers Business Insurance resources, technology, training, and support
• Consistently meet production and activity expectations

Requirement

• Strong sales, business development, or relationship-management experience
• Proven ability to prospect and generate new business
• Comfortable communicating directly with business owners and decision-makers
• Strong networking and referral-development skills
• Self-motivated, competitive, and highly organized
• Ability to manage a sales pipeline and consistently follow up with prospects
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in building a long-term book of business
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with Farmers agency owners and District resources
• Arizona Property & Casualty insurance license required or ability to obtain licensing within an agreed-upon timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial insurance or Commercial Lines experience
• Experience selling directly to small and mid-sized businesses
• Existing relationships within the Phoenix Metro business community
• Background in B2B sales, financial services, banking, payroll/PEO, commercial real estate, employee benefits, automotive, or another business-owner-focused industry
