Nurse Practitioner Cardiology Full Time
Working under the general direction of a collaborating physician, the advanced practice clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides direct care to patients in a high volume clinical service.
S / he develops, implements, and evaluates a program of specialized health care for a select patient population with cardiology diagnoses.
S / he will be intimately involved in direct care in the form of Cardiology Consultation both urgent and non urgent for patients admitted to the Hospital.
The APP will see patients throughout the hospital who need input and evaluation for various Cardiovascular issues including heart failure, arrythmias, chest pain, shortness of breath, those patients in need of preoperative clearance prior to non cardiac surgery.
Responds to urgent requests for consultation and assists in expediting patients to obtain required procedures in collaboration with the attending physician.
The APP will work collaboratively with various members of the health care team in various specialties.S / he serves as a role model for professional medical practice in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse in the expanded role (NP) or physician assistant
- Current Federal & Massachusetts licensures to dispense Controlled Substance
- Certification in advanced practice nursing or physician assistant
- Certification in Basic Life Support
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- APP experience in Cardiology preferred
