Position Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design Innovation: Engineer and optimize high-performance HVAC systems tailored to the unique demands of commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities.

• Energy Architecture: Perform rigorous heating and cooling load calculations and energy modeling to drive sustainable, code-compliant system selections.

• BIM & CAD Integration: Architect, develop, and coordinate high-fidelity building systems and construction documents utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.

• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal MEP disciplines and external architectural partners to ensure seamless system integration and technical accuracy.

• Equipment Specification: Select right-sized mechanical equipment and compile comprehensive equipment schedules, technical specifications, and system details.

• Project Stewardship: Support senior leadership with code research, performance analysis, and the rigorous execution of project documentation from initial concept through final submittals.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables align with the firm’s strict technical quality standards and environmental performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD).

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated HVAC design experience within a consulting engineering or MEP design environment.

• Software Proficiency: Strong, practical command of AutoCAD and/or Revit.

• Technical Acumen: Solid foundational understanding of mechanical systems, building energy modeling, and modern building codes.

• Collaboration: Strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills with the proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensure: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a declared path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

• Advanced BIM Workflows: Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP and digital project delivery standards.

• Sector Expertise: Direct experience designing mechanical systems for healthcare or higher education facilities.

• Sustainability Focus: Familiarity with LEED principles or sustainable, energy-efficient building strategies.
