The Pathologists Assistant is responsible for thepreparation gross description and dissection of surgical pathologyspecimens and the performance of postmortem examinations under themedical direction of the pathologist(s) while implementing thehospital and laboratory missions goals and objectives.

Additional Requirements :

• Independent judgment and initiative arerequired to schedule organize and plan work.
• Responsible for care and accuracy in the collection andlabeling of specimens.
• Flexibility andadaptability in emergencies including working additional hours orshifts.
• Ability to work efficiently accuratelyand alertly for extended periods and under stress.
• Knowledge of HIS and LIS assorted laboratoryinstrumentation appropriate to the scope of position and dependentupon current technology.

PA)ASCP required. Equivalent certification notaccepted

• Previous Pathology Assistantexperience current to 12 months Required
• Bachelor Degree Required (Masters Preferred)
• NY PA License Required
