The City of Janesville (pop. 66,809), located in scenic south-central Wisconsin, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design, planning, and construction of diverse public infrastructure projects that directly improves the quality of life for its residents.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and manage complex public works design and construction projects.
  • Prepare or oversee bid documents, engineering plans, cost estimates, and feasibility reports.
  • Direct internal and external engineers, technicians, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support economic development by planning and implementing infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial growth.

    • Minimum Position Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or biological systems engineering (or related field).
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire; or APWA Stormwater Management Certification.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license at time of hire.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range : $86,854 - $108,567 + / - DOQ. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications.
