Job Summary
Under the direction of the Branch Manager, provide leadership, direction, training, and supervision to all branch staff. Assume the Branch Manager's responsibilities for the branch when the Manager is absent. Ensure the highest quality service to members in account transactions, loan applications, new accounts, and member services. All responsibilities are to be performed in compliance with TCU standard operating procedures, TCU policies, applicable state and Federal regulations and applicable state and federal law, as well as according to TCU's Core Values and Performance Standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide a professional leadership role to all branch staff, supervising the activities of the teller operations area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems.
- Train and otherwise ensure that staff is trained and cross-trained in all phases of their position to ensure the delivery of quality service to members and to ensure accuracy in transactions.
- Coach staff to actively promote products and service, and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch.
- Evaluate the job performance of UMSRs to offer immediate, respectful corrective feedback and to collaborate with Branch Manager on annual performance evaluations.
- Function as an UMSR / teller as needed, or directed.
- Primary Branch Lender responsibilities; book loans, establish new accounts, discuss various products with members to meet their specific needs. Act as a loan officer with an assigned level of authority. Report all lending activity to upper management
- Help analyze the work flow to determine staffing requirements. Set, communicate and manage work schedules for employees in the branch to ensure proper service to members.
- Manage and recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies.
- Maintain an adequate supply of checks stocks (for official checks and money orders)
- Serve as vault teller for the branch, which includes ordering the cash and currency via EasCorp, verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.
- Maintain a working, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the Branch. Knowledgeable on all credit union policies and processes within the Branch and Teller Area
- Ensure that safety and security policies are up to date and training provided on safety and security procedures
- Investigate teller overs & shorts and institute corrective flow of work and / or corrective disciplinary action where required. Record differences and report large differences to upper management same-day.
- Assist members in person or on phone with all transactions or inquiries
- Rotate to different branches as necessary, or directed, to cover Manager absences
- Timely completion of own performance evaluation / and review and submission of supervised employees' evaluations.
Required Experience & Skills
