AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation ITS & Traffic Engineer Intern - Summer 2026 to join our Denver, CO office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it's like to work in a professional environment and apply what's learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and operations support.
• Responsible for the compilation of data and the preparation of reports.
• Utilize computer software such as CAD (MicroStation and / or AutoCAD) to produce schematics, drawings and design plans.
• Assist with preparation of design plans
• Assist with preparation of traffic signal models
• Coordinate within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.
• Participate in group meetings, both project and organization related
• Participate in field work when applicable

QUALIFICATIONS

College level courses in math, technical drafting, computer assisted drafting and / or science may be required. No experience is generally required with the applicable college courses or equivalent training, or if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.

Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).

Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.

Expected compensation range is between $25- $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
