About the Role :

  • As a Level Designer at Templar Media, you’ll be responsible for designing and building engaging, visually striking, and gameplay-rich environments.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with art, design, and programming to create spaces that support storytelling, player flow, and replayability.
  • The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of level design principles, a passion for world-building, and the ability to turn paper concepts into compelling interactive experiences.
  • You’ll balance creativity and technical execution to craft levels that feel alive; whether they’re driving narrative moments, combat encounters, or exploration challenges.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Design, prototype, and build levels that deliver exciting and cohesive gameplay experiences.
  • Collaborate with the design, art, and gameplay programming teams to align level layout and gameplay mechanics.
  • Create detailed level layouts, whitebox designs, and environment documentation.
  • Implement gameplay elements such as encounters, missions, and world interactions using Unreal Engine 4 / 5.
  • Ensure levels support pacing, difficulty balance, and player guidance goals.
  • Iterate based on playtesting and feedback to refine flow, performance, and fun factor.
  • Contribute ideas to improve world structure, mission design, and player engagement.
  • Maintain consistent quality and performance standards throughout level production.
  • Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of professional level design experience.
  • Experience shipping at least one commercial game title (AA or AAA preferred).
  • Strong understanding of spatial design, player flow, and environmental storytelling.
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine 4 / 5 and its level design tools.
  • Ability to block out and iterate on level layouts quickly and effectively.
  • Strong sense of pacing, composition, and gameplay rhythm.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for creating fun, memorable, and meaningful player experiences.
  • Preference to Applicants With :

  • Experience with open-world or mission-based game design.
  • Familiarity with scripting gameplay logic using Unreal Blueprints.
  • Understanding of AI pathing, navigation, and encounter design.
  • Background in 3D art, architecture, or world-building.
  • A love for games — especially action-adventure and cooperative titles.
