Ro Health is hiring a Special Education School teachers to start in the fall 2024 / 2025 school year in Sacramento and Natomas, CA.

Position Overview

Special Education teachers work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.

They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, from math to English, in a way that is easier to understand for students with mild and moderate disabilities.

They also teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities.

Start : August 2024-June 2025 *Possible extension

Hours : 8 : 00am-3 : 30pm Monday-Friday

Compensation : Starting at 50 / hr based on experience and qualifications

• Must have Education Specialist Credential / mild / moderate or moderate / severe credential from the Commision of Teacher Credentialing in California.
• Must have CLAD and AAS authorizations

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions :

May include but not limited to :

• Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
• Help develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
• Plan, organize, and assign activities specific student abilities
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Assess students’ performance and progress periodically
• Discuss student’s progress with parents, general education teachers, counselors, and administrators
• Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade
• Comply will all company policies and applicable laws
• Handles all other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

REQUIRED :

• Bachelor’s Degree - no specific major
• Education Specialist credential certificate from the Commission of Teaching and Credentialing in California

Supervision Received

The special education teacher will report to the School Administrator and Superintendent. Supervision is often minimal to general.

Supervision Exercised

The Special Education teacher will often supervise Teaching Assistants in day-to-day activities along with being the sole supervisor at times for the students.
