Position Summary

We are seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney (3-5 years of experience) to join our expanding Trust & Estate Litigation Division.

This role is ideal for a motivated litigator who wants to grow and manage meaningful cases, and develop into a senior or partner-track attorney in a professional, system-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters.
• Draft petitions, complaints, motions, discovery, and other pleadings.
• Conduct and respond to discovery; prepare for depositions and hearings.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences under supervision.
• Collaborate with paralegals and docketing staff to maintain deadlines and compliance.
• Participate in client meetings and strategy sessions.
• Contribute to improving firm workflows and client service.

Qualifications

Required :

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience (civil, probate, or trust).

Excellent written, oral, and analytical skills.

Familiarity with California Rules of Court and probate procedure.

Strong communication and teamwork mindset.

Preferred :

Experience handling contested trust or probate petitions.

Knowledge of fiduciary accountings or financial elder abuse actions.

Desire for mentorship, leadership development, and long-term growth.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary : $165,000 - $195,000 (commensurate with experience).

Performance Bonus : Up to 20% of base salary based on measurable metrics :

70% - Collections (net revenue billed and collected)

20% - Originations (new client revenue generated)

10% - Team Engagement and Leadership (collaboration, mentoring, reliability)

Total earning potential : $198,000 - $234,000 per year.

Work Environment

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM.

Location : Primarily in-office at our Orinda headquarters, with hybrid flexibility after onboarding.
