This Manager (Contracts Legal) role is a leadership position requiring extensive knowledge and experience of contract preparation and review.

This position supports Travel + Leisure’s Strategic Development, Corporate Facilities and Risk Management teams and regularly interacts with these business units along with external business partners, and outside counsel.

It is important in this position to provide prompt, positive and professional customer service that will foster a positive experience and collaborative professional working relationship with our clients.

The ability to balance working under multiple deadlines for multiple stakeholders for a large business team located across the country required.

Great communication skills is key. There will be significant autonomy in the oversight of this area of responsibility with minimum supervision by Director, Counsel or VP.

How You'll Shine :

  • Management of contract requests (averaging 500+ annually) plus other related contract documentation such as reports, notices, contract templates and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage enhancements to ServiceNow contract intake forms.
  • Draft various vendor contracts, master services agreements, amendments, renewals, and notices related to resort renovation and design, new resort construction, remediation and mitigation for property insurance claims, and corporate facilities.
  • Collaborate with business clients on process efficiencies, refinement of contract language, and vendor non-performance / default matters.
  • Collaborate with business clients on project timelines and prioritization.
  • Organize and manage all calls with business clients.
  • Train team members on the contract process and templates.
  • Train any new business clients on our contract intake platform (ServiceNow).
  • Perform legal research, including reviewing of governing documents, case law and federal, state, and local statutes.

What You'll Bring :

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in performing job functions and discerning when to escalate matters to Director and / or Counsel.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Anticipates situations that set and adjust priorities and staffing.
  • Decision making authority as to issues related to the contracts unless matter requires Counsel advice.
  • Extensive typing, editing, formatting, red-lining and proofreading contracts, and other related documents.
  • Flexible in managing changing priorities and coordinating multiple projects and diverse responsibilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract preparation and company’s resort portfolio.
  • Maintains a proactive, positive approach to all situations with the ability to anticipate potential challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Requires attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities and anticipate needs and take initiative to meeting deadlines while achieving high-quality work product.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Proficiency in legal research, Internet, and other sources.
  • Associate Degree in paralegal studies or related field; or
  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program
  • 2-4 years’ paralegal experience in contract preparation and review.
  • Some hospitality / timeshare experience preferred.
  • 2+ years’ project management experience.
