Essential Job Functions
Design and lead the organization’s revenue cycle strategy.
Optimization and day-to-day operation of the company-wide revenue cycle function.
Provide accurate and timely billing information and reports to facilitate decision-making processes.
Keep leadership informed about the organization's billing / claims collection performance.
Drive adherence to local, State, and federal regulations as well as maintaining knowledge of all payor reimbursement guidelines.
Drive revenue cycle process improvement and cost saving initiatives.
Establish a metric driven approach to managing the department and reporting on performance.
Analyze data and KPI's to ensure A / R follow up and collections are operating at optimum efficiency and look for process enhancement opportunities.
Ensure the revenue cycle department is meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Remain up to date with payor policies to maximize reimbursements.
Routinely meet with payors to establish relationships.
Maintain status as a preferred provider and collaborate to resolve claim issues (authorization denials, claim rejections, claim denials, etc.) in a timely manner.
Provide effective supervision and coaching to all assigned employees.
Train new employees to provide quality services and ensure continued education and training to strengthen services provided.
Ensure and maintain adequate controls are in place for the billing department, e.g., develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines. Create and implement improvements for accounting processes and procedures.
Resolve complex billing issues.
Communicate appropriate guidance to the billing team to ensure billing practices are consistent with internal policies and external requirements of payors.
Identify and analyze revenue cycle trends. Implement best practices to reduce claim rejection / denials and maximize revenue / collections.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
