Head Of Technology Operations And Resilience
State Street Investment Management ("State Street IM", formerly known as State Street Global Advisors or SSGA) is seeking a Head of Technology Operations and Resilience, a strategic leadership role within the COO organization of State Street Investment Management. This position is responsible for ensuring the operational excellence, scalability, and resilience of over 200+ critical applications supporting Investment Management. The role is pivotal in driving transformation aligned with the Product, Platform, and Services operating model, and in meeting heightened regulatory, compliance, and governance expectations.
This leader will oversee Production Management, platform and operations Resiliency, leading a global team responsible for incident and problem management, service continuity, and operational risk governance. The role is central to delivering robust service delivery, driving strategic transformation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
This role will report directly to State Street IM's Global Head of Technology and Business Architecture Service within the Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and lead the global strategy for production management, platform and operations resiliency across technology platforms.
- Align operational capabilities with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the accountable executive for service continuity, incident response, and operational risk governance.
- Champion modernization initiatives including cloud-native architectures, API-first platforms, and microservices.
- Support horizontal integration across Product, Client Experience, and Investment Management verticals.
- Drive the development and oversight of a resilient infrastructure and tightly controlled production environment, leveraging a unified, data-driven operational dashboard to ensure transparency, readiness, and continuity across investment management functions.
Production Management
Oversee Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Enablement, and Service Request Management.Lead Monitoring and Event Management, Service Level Management, and Service Continuity Management.Drive operational excellence through proactive issue resolution and performance optimization.Resiliency & Operational Risk
Manage strategy and compliance for Technology Operational Risk and Governance.Ensure adherence to Cyber Controls Assurance Program and control ownership.Oversee supplier management, knowledge management, and broader State Street Technology alignment.Execution & Oversight
Collaborate with and exercise oversight over production and support services provided by State Street's Global Technology Services (GTS).Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, ownership, and delivery excellence.Oversee the technology lifecycle and ensure scalable, resilient service delivery.Establish and monitor KPIs for execution quality, risk mitigation, and business value delivery.Qualifications
15+ years of experience in technology operations, technology engineering, or production management within financial services.Proven leadership in managing global teams across technology, operations, and risk domains.Strong understanding of service continuity, and operational governance.Experience with cloud-native architectures, monitoring tools, and enterprise risk frameworks.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across business and technology.Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or technology required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Exceptional communication, facilitation, and strategic thinking skills.Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, navigate organizational complexity, and drive measurable outcomes.Salary Range : $170,000 - $282,500 Annual
