Under the direction of the Clinical Director, is responsible for facilitating intensive outpatient chemical dependency groups and individual counseling, case management, and treatment planning for clients who have been referred to Nex Level Behavioral Health & Addiction Treatment Services, LLC.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs clinical services as required by our regulatory bodies
  • Develop a comprehensive clinical formulation based on the completion and / or review of chemical dependency, mental health, biopsychosocial, and related assessments, and the clients current functioning.
  • Completes, as necessary, assessments to include AOD related assessments.
  • Develops, assigns, and monitors Individualized Service Plans and continuing care plans in cooperation with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provides chemical dependency counseling (individual, family, group), crisis intervention, and chemical dependency and mental health education.
  • Provides case management to ensure problems identified are resolved or appropriate services accessed.
  • Coordinates and / or participates in adjunct activities.
  • Observe urinalysis collections and complete required paperwork.
  • Participates in clinical staff meetings
  • Maintains clinical documentation / record keeping.
  • Assumes responsibility for all paperwork in assigned client records.
  • Completes day-to-day services documentation as required by funders, accreditation bodies, and Nex Level Behavioral Health & Addiction Treatment Services.
  • Assists in the completion of monthly audits.
  • Maintains Appropriate Unit Environment.
  • Assists in maintaining the therapeutic environment of the unit by ensuring staff and clients follow policies and procedures of Nex Level Behavioral Health & Addiction Treatment Services and the unit.
  • Reports problems / concerns regarding the unit to the clinical director for discussion, evaluation, and resolution.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs Administrative Functions of the Unit.
  • Assists in training of students and staff.
  • Attends and participates in staff, in-service, and other meetings.
  • Attends regular training throughout the year.
  • Maintain credentials by attending necessary education or continuing education opportunities.
  • Participates in on-call rotation as specified by unit policy and procedures.
  • Adheres to and upholds to Nex Level Behavioral Health & Addiction Treatment Services Code of Ethics.

Skills / Abilities Required

  • Must have training / experience in all clinical aspects of chemical dependency treatment.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the disease concept of chemical dependency and its effect on clients and their families.
  • Must demonstrate maturity and tolerance in interpersonal relationships and the ability to effectively communicate with clients, their families, staff, referring professionals, etc.
  • Must be familiar with the principles and programs of AA, NA, and Al-Anon, and similar recovery groups.
  • Must maintain current knowledge of all laws, rules, ethical standards, and safety regulations affecting this professional position and the area in which it operates.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality; must sign a confidentiality agreement.
  • Excellent professional communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
  • Organization, attention to detail, flexibility, and strong ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work without supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative.

Physical / Mental Required

  • Must be able to adapt to situations involving interpretations of feelings, ideas, and facts.
  • Must be able to perform under stress.
  • Must be comfortable performing day-to-day administrative activities and clinical responsibilities.
  • Communicates effectively with clients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Must be able to interpret the clients feelings in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Must be able to ensure the clients welfare during emergencies and other non-routine situations.
  • Must be able to make sound judgments based on an ability to generalize, evaluate, and decide.
  • Ability to use related office equipment, including PC monitor, keyboard and printer, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator.
  • Physical Requirements : carry, file, lift, sit, speak, write, hear, read, stand, type, see, stoop, walk
  • Mental Requirements : advise, evaluate, interpret, organize, decide, plan, work independently, diagnose, instruct, negotiate, problem solve.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • Associate Arts or Bachelors degree in human service or behavioral science with one (2) year of experience in the field of chemical dependence or mental health treatment.
  • LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, LSW, LISW or comparable license or certification with one (2) year of paid full-time experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines and equipment including, but not limited to, computer and printers, fax machine, copier, calculator, and telephone.

In most cases, physical demand requirements are standing and walking more than 80%; sitting more than 25%; some lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling of light to moderate weight materials (less than thirty pounds) and occasionally bending / stooping.

Work Environment

Must have physical and mental stamina and be able to perform successfully under time-limited pressure. Regular office hours are 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm, Monday through Friday.

Must have the flexibility and willingness to adjust the schedule occasionally in order to accommodate programmatic needs.

Exposure to Hazards : Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions on a frequent basis with moderate noise. Typical working conditions are found in most administrative work areas.

Worker has contact with consumers and other staff and may be exposed to medical conditions presented by them. There is potential for exposure to communicable diseases and / or blood-borne pathogens.
