We are looking for an experienced accounts receivable supervisor / manager to oversee and manage the accounting operations of the accounts receivable department in richmond, virginia. This role is integral to ensuring timely billing, efficient collections, and accurate reconciliation of customer accounts. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a detail-oriented approach to streamline processes and maintain compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the accounting team responsible for billing, collections, credit reviews, and account reconciliations.
- Develop and implement training programs for new team members while identifying ongoing training needs for current staff.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of customer invoices and oversee the posting of payments, including credit card transactions.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts, making collection calls when necessary.
- Coordinate with external collection agencies and legal counsel to recover past-due amounts.
- Administer credit evaluations for new and existing customers, establishing appropriate credit limits based on financial assessments.
- Review agreements with new customers to ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Reconcile daily fuel inventory levels for company-owned sites to maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all accounts receivable activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
Requirements :
Proven ability to effectively manage and supervise a team, including training and development.Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and customer interactions.Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools.Advanced knowledge of microsoft office suite or equivalent software.Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.Minimum of five years of relevant experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role.Comfortable working in a desk-based environment with prolonged computer use.
