Slitting Operator 3rd Shift

POSITION PURPOSE :

Following safety standards, perform a variety of activities involved in the overall running of the slitter / rewinder machine. Primary responsibilities are to constantly monitor all phases of the slitting operation, to maintain quality and productivity, and to maximize waste reduction efforts in order to ensure that continuous improvement goals are achieved or exceeded.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform the following duties consistent with the Finishing function including, but not limited to :

• Ensure that the slitter / rewinder is producing quality product.
• Ensure proper materials and machine settings are used.
• Communicate support needs as required.
• Ensure that all manufacturing instructions are carried out.
• Ensure all paperwork and data entry is completed accurately.
• Ensure crew is working towards optimum productivity and waste reduction capabilities.
• Communicate with Shift Supervisor upon completion of scheduled work.
• Monitor deviations in materials and running conditions; making corrections with crew assistance; and report deviations to proper supervisor.
• Ensure that environmental, safety and housekeeping standards and regulations are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in preparation and packaging.

Majority of time spent in manufacturing area. Hearing, eye and foot protection is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
