DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prior to arrival at field assignment location, review, plan, and prepare for field work based on the detailed scope of work, drawings, specifications, Metso and customer policies / procedures / rules / regulations / safety, specific instructions, etc.
  • Provide technical and hands-on service during demolition and installation, checkout, start-up, and commissioning to ensure safety and proper equipment and system erection is in accordance with contract designs and drawing requirements.
  • Perform Field Service activities & routines (both at customer site and office-based) with support / supervision level in-line with training certification.
  • Managed and supervise Field service engineer / Field service technician / Field site technician and crew.
  • Field Service routines include : Basic customer problem-solving and / or troubleshooting (expert level) Repairs & preventative maintenance work with various types of process equipment such as crushers, conveyers, pumps, screens, mills, etc.

Perform work using safe and proper methods and procedures to maintain and repair Metso equipment. Equipment inspections with recommendations, Assembly / disassembly, installation & commissioning Trade specific discipline work (hydraulics, mechanics, automation, reliability etc) operation and maintenance activities Remote support to colleagues and customers Perform accurate equipment condition monitoring and simple analysis based.

Collect data on a planned schedule (maintenance plans) using standard FM routes, tools, and processes. Create reports and recommendation for all findings that require a maintenance action using the standard report format.

RCM report when action is required. Collect all parts related to their calls for RCA review and any other components changed for any other reason on equipment being monitored by RCM (all changed components or pieces).

Verification that data collected is giving expected results.

  • Provide recommendations / changes to avoid having the same failure. Share data with team Metso at all sites that have like equipment and customer.
  • Follow Metso processes, instructions, and training in performance of duties, with a specific focus on our brand requirements, certification principles, field service process and proper utilization of the FSM tool and digital inspection application.
  • Follow Metso & customer H&S requirements, ensuring adherence to the Metso Modus Operandi in performing duties.
  • Deliver site reports, time sheets & travel expense reports after each job in timely manner.
  • Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras, and engineering and fabrication errors.
  • Communications with the client to ensure satisfaction with job progress and quality.
  • Identifying sales leads and promote services offering, develop and grow service business opportunities.

  • Ability to read and interpretation documents such as machine, tools and parts manuals, procedure, operating and maintenance instructions manuals, also capability to understand and knowledge of various product applications marketed by Metso.
  • Work in liaison with the various technical support departments within the Metso organization.
  • Knowledge and experience RCM.
  • Developing the RCM routes and ensuring accurate data is obtained.
  • Must be well organized and able to maintain accurate records and communicate reliable information through detailed technical reports.
  • Good document control for regulations and or warranty.
  • Ability to travel and stay in remote locations for extended periods and have the stamina to work long hours during emergency breakdowns and peak periods.
  • Good attendance record and willingness to work rotating shifts, or long hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • Must have the stamina to work extended hours. Requires the ability to work in a variety of environments that may include exposure to heat, cold, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, loud noise, and all types of weather conditions.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering or Quality Engineering with a minimum 5 years’ experience in field service / maintenance and ideally on grinding mills, crushers as well as process machinery.
  • Diploma degree from relevant engineering with minimum 10 years’ experience in field service / maintenance
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to make mechanical drawings with geometric tolerances is required.
  • Experience in reading data for equipment and documenting changes.
  • Professional certification in at least 1 technology and reliability
  • Prevent experience in predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Must be aggressive, assertive, and confident.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
