Diesel Mechanic

Republic Services, Inc., a leader in the U.S non-hazardous solid waste and recycling industry renowned for its signature blue trucks, is currently seeking a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet. This position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency, reliability, and safety of our vehicles. The role involves comprehensive maintenance and repair duties that support our commitment to offering superior collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling services. Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within the fleet. Perform vehicle inspections and provide condition reports. Uphold environmental compliance in handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and parts inventory. Collaborate with a team to manage repair schedules and ensure timely services. Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times. In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and systems. Ability to diagnose and fix hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues. Proficiency in the use of diagnostic testing and repair tools. Strong organizational and communication skills. Capability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
