Location : NJ, NY, CT Markets
Summary :
Successful candidates will have a strong track record of new business development, customer service, and sales operations. The business you will be responsible for will primarily target new retail & foodservice distribution customers, while supporting corporate and wholesale business. This role reports directly to the Director of Business Development, working most frequently with Distribution Sales, Procurement, and Financial / Operational cross-functional partners.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE foodservice or retail sales experience with perishable foods.

Key Responsibilities :
Gain new distribution, placements, and prospects throughout the assigned territory & customer portfolioPursuing growth targets and initiatives within the assigned region, leveraging and managing pre-existing relationshipsDriving sales to exceed budget for units, gross profits, prospecting targets & additional KPIsAssisting sales leadership with key accounts' merchandising reset requests regularlyForecasting and promotional planning for assigned accounts & new businessCommunicating competitive intelligence and innovative opportunities regularlyCoordinating efficiencies in all facets of sales operations for the customer baseParticipating in strategic projects as needed in support of executive team leadershipFrequent order entry (both in office and remotely), lead implementation of new Online Order Entry toolCommunicating price updates, managing price lists & promotions for key accountsProactively communicate the weekly calendar & field market activityParticipating in sales-related meetings, trade shows, and company eventsCollaborate with Buyers on pricing strategy / tactics to exceed route profitability & GP targetsQualifications :
3+ years of sales experience, preferably in perishable foods with a network of customer relationships, Produce / Retail a plusExceptional verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of perishable foods distribution business, preferably produceMust be located within the Metro NY-NJ-CT marketplace, hiring multiple regionsPC skills and proficiency with MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelMust be willing to learn new systems and software to support the business as neededMinimum of 70% of time spent working in the field, 1x / week team meeting in Hunts PointFluent in Spanish, bilingual (preferred)Referrals are our best source for the top talent our clients need so if you know of anyone with these skills in the food and beverage industry, please pass me their name and email / phone number, or share this job posting with them.
