The Department of Art & Design seeks applicants for an Art Studio Supervisor / Shop Director / Program Instructor , with the potentiality of teaching.
This is a 12-month academic staff position, tentative startdateJuly 1, 2024.
The Department of Art & Design offers four comprehensive undergraduate degree programs andopportunitiesdesigned topreparestudents forprofessionalinvolvementina21stcenturyenvironment.
In addition to traditional studio areas such as Drawing, Painting, Ceramics and Sculpture, theDepartment also offers instruction in Photography (traditional & digital), Art Education, Interior Design,Art History, and digital media such as Graphic Design and UX / UI Design.
Sixteen dedicated art faculty-mentors provide a dynamic and challenging learning experience to approximately 200 undergraduatemajors in the department.
Studio facilities, equipment & technologies are constantly upgraded,affording our students the most current experiences in the classroom and studio environments.

Responsibilities
Typical Allocation of Duties
Instruct students - 50%
Instruct students in assigned laboratory, shop, studio, and / or classroom setting.
Monitor students - 20%
Monitor students to ensure compliance with lab, shop, studio, and / or program rules and / or requirements.
Advise and assist - 15%
Advise and assist students.
Assignment-specific duties - 15%
Perform a variety of assignment-specific duties which may include maintain equipment, purchasing supplies and materials, assisting with curriculum development, inputting data, and other specialized tasks.
Supervisor Expectations
- Overseeandmanagethecomprehensivewoodshop facilities,sculpturestudio, and / orclassroomactivitiesfortheDepartmentofArt &Design.
- Performavarietyofassignment-specificdutiessupportingstudio areasintheDepartment : Additionalstudio areasincludejewelry / metalsmithing,printmaking,ceramics,and another areas asneededwithin theDepartment,Operatingandmaintainingequipment,Maintaininginventoryandpurchasingsuppliesandmaterials,Assistingwithcurriculumdevelopment,Instructingstudents,orteaching asaninstructorofrecord(dependentuponthesuccessful candidate squalificationsandexperiences).
Other specializedtasksasassigned.

Required Qualifications
Required Experience
Master's degree in classroom, laboratory, or shop academic field and three (3) years of related work experience.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
