HR and Payroll Specialist
The HR & Payroll Specialist will report to the Executive team in a professional services firm. You will ensure that employees are recruited, hired, and onboarded while maintaining communication and trust between everyone.
Summary of Duties
- Assist with posting and reviewing job ads, scheduling interviews, sending offer letters, initiating background checks, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication with newly hired employees.
- Assist employees with new hire paperwork, changes of employment status, and manage employee questions.
- Support and assist all employees in areas that involve employee leaves, compensation, benefits, worker’s comp., and discipline issues as requested..
- Pride yourself on your excellent communication skills and be an example all the time.
- Prepare payroll every 2 weeks and coordinate with third party payroll company for processing.
- Support the Controller with Journal Entries
- Process payroll for prevailing wage projects and complete reports for submission to contractors.
- Monitor 401K and other deductions
- Prepare manual payroll checks as needed (bonuses, final checks) and year end payrolls (auto use, draw, bonus, medical, moving expenses, etc.)
- Coordinate with payroll company for year-end reporting
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of Payroll, Human Resource and Bookkeeping experience.
- General knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices.
- Strong level of organization, detail-oriented, and possess outstanding follow-through skills.
Pay : Up to 75k - Dependent on Skills and Experience
