Overview

The Idaho Department of Labor supports individuals through career transitions, determines benefit eligibility, connects employers with workers and oversees tax and labor laws compliance. The UI Compliance Bureau has an exciting opportunity for multiple full-time UI Tax Examiner positions. The UI Tax Examiner is instrumental in conducting investigations and ensuring the integrity of the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. The incumbent determines compliance with the tax provisions of employment security law. The ideal candidates will have strong financial skills, an analytical approach to problem solving, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and on a team. Responsibilities

• Review and audit financial data for accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
• Conduct complex and thorough investigations to include the following tasks.
• Interview individuals from varying socio-economic backgrounds.
• Research and gather evidence.
• Document findings.
• Analyze facts.
• Issue determinations.
• Communicate investigation and audit findings to internal and external parties, provide guidance on corrective measures and enforce compliance with findings.
• Educate, assist and communicate with a wide range of internal and external parties concerning financial transactions, operations and reporting from financial software.
• Identify and investigate areas of non-compliance for business operating throughout the State of Idaho.
