The Role :

Were looking for a new Senior Manager, Transportation and Logistics *to* support here! The Sr. Manager of Transportation and Logistics is responsible for the oversight and management of the companys transportation and inbound shipping strategy.

This role is responsible for the establishment and execution of best practices and strategic initiatives around inbound freight, quality testing, vendor compliance, and shipping / packing standards.

This role manages the close monitoring of costs, lead times, and quality to make sure goals and needs are met. This position is responsible for all aspects of domestic and international inbound transportation activities including : relationship management, RFP bidding, negotiations, industry outlook, strategic planning, and risk mitigation.

• Manages and streamlines all transportation networks and planning and maintain clear milestones and deadlines to respect expected delivery dates.
• Manage different stakeholders throughout transportation projects e.g. suppliers, merchandising and inventory, DC operations, finance.
• Transportation network planning and forecasting to meet lead times for multi-sales channels.
• Use cost and service data to identify areas for improvement in transportation network.
• Transportation network performance continuous improvement planning using historical data, current market trends and sales forecasting data.
• Interface with cross functional teams including finance, inventory, and DC operations to identify transportation solutions to meet business targets.
• Work closely with financial management team to perform deep cost analysis and cost savings opportunities to meet financial targets.

Domestic and International.

• Prepare for and participate in weekly business reviews with merchandising and inventory team.
• Drive Transportation and Logistics organizational structure
• Develop RFP process for freight partner selection with goal of combined cost benefits and delivery quality and timing.
• Manage rolling 1-3 year transportation capabilities and performance roadmap.
• Drive creation and maintenance of transportation and logistics best practices. Create clear SOPs required to support transportation goals.
• Create and manage EDI process for vendor and shipment communication. Conduct RFP for provider
• Create and maintain supplier compliance manual with required standards and penalties for non-compliance.
• Create and maintain supplier routing guide with required standards and penalties for non-adherence.
• Create supplier and freight forwarder scorecard metrics and track against service level goals and requirements.
• Create case and packing standards.

Qualifications :

• Preferred bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination or experience and education
• Five (5) plus years of related work experience. Logistics and Transportation Procurement
• Three(3) plus years manager level experience
• Knowledge of transportation regulatory requirements
• Knowledge and experience in sourcing and transportation related activities
• Knowledge of cost forecasting and modeling within a transportation environment
• Working knowledge of future and current transportation trends
• Experience partnering with product team, distribution, and manufacturing organizations
• Ability to synthesize complex problems into a simple story using numbers and charts
• Advance skill in all Office products and Access Data Base
