Role Summary
The Associate, Human Resources - Payroll position will work with individuals across all HSIP's corporate functional areas. Functioning as a support resource for our agency partners and interfacing with our payroll vendor on a consistent basis to maximize the functional and operational efficiency and accuracy of our payroll processes and reporting. Establishing trust, credibility, and strong relationships with agency partners, corporate functional leaders, and staff.
This position requires an experienced payroll administrator to be responsible for assigned payroll-related tasks. In this role, the responsibilities will include the auditing of employee information, including but not limited to, working hours, calculating, and verifying wages, and properly assigned tax codes. On occasion may be required to function as a back-up for agency partners to prepare, schedule, and process employee payrolls and any related payments, and ensure accurate payroll records. Conducting analysis and reports of compensation data and costs, as well as auditing and tracking other employee census related data.
To be successful in the Associate, Human Resources - Payroll position, you should be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company, regulatory, and tax standards. The incumbent should also have excellent people skills and demonstrated mathematical competency.
Primary areas of responsibility :
- Preparing and processing the bi-weekly payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local regulations. May be required to initiate manual paychecks, correct direct deposit errors or account for missed deductions and provide timely solutions.
- Entering employee profile and pay related data in a timely basis to ensure the accurate distribution of bi-weekly pay, as well as the maintenance of administrative databases.
- Auditing and calculating wages as needed, monitoring all payroll related deductions / contributions associated with employee benefits, 401(k) participation, proper tax assignments.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations and company policies.
- Assists with payroll tax registrations as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
- Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns on behalf of agency partners.
- Assists with preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes, as needed.
- Prepares periodic payroll reports for review by management.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and resolve discrepancies.
Desired Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
3 to 5 years payroll administration and processing experience, required.Paycor payroll system experience preferred.Associate degree in Business, Accounting or related field of education or equivalent professional certification preferred.Demonstrated time and process management abilities.Detail oriented.Fundamental compliance knowledge, procedures, including tax regulations and legal requirements.Solid mathematical competencyExcellent problem-solving skills.Proactive and innovativePersonal Attributes :
