JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Center Tech is responsible for providing high-quality service in data center facility to take excellent care of our customers, build relationships, question things, work hard, work smart, and enjoy the experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation of telecommunications equipment and associated infrastructure by customer standards.
- Act as customer contact.
- Interface with customers and local supervisors to clarify project status.
- Work well within a team and demonstrate some leadership ability.
- Plan and layout installation activities to meet dates and budgeted hours. Oversee other personnel when required.
- The work will involve the installation of power, fiber and switchboard cable, and telecommunications equipment in Data Center and other Telecom facilities. Installers should be familiar with and / or are trained with iron work / bays / equipment rack installation, blueprint / schematic reading.
- Physically placing, removing, or modifying non-working equipment
- Cable trays and / or racking

Data Servers, Switches, Routers, Repeaters, Bridges, Gateways, Multiplexers, Transceivers, FirewallsFuse PanelsPhysically routing the cables that supply AC and / or DC power or transmit data in various technical spacesIdentify, label, and terminate cables that supply AC and / or DC power or transmit dataConduct test and document performance characteristics of hardware and softwareResolve equipment / technical issuesReview, analyze, and interpret work orders, drawings, records, and manualsPerform quality validation on in-process and completed workInteract with all members of the organization, Installation, Engineering and Project ManagementPerforms other duties as requested by ManagerQUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, technical or college degree preferredOne year of experienceProficient in use of Microsoft programs and applicationsProficient in use of IOS and / or Android applicationsPhysically placing, removing, or modifying non-working equipmentAbility to trouble shoot cabling issues as well as resolve problemsAbility to trouble shoot hardware and software issues as well as resolve problemsGood written and oral communication skillsGood customer service skillsGood computer soft skills required
