The Los Angeles Times is looking for an experienced reporter to cover the world's fourth-largest economy, California.
The position calls for strong reporting on topics such as labor, immigrant workers, the gig economy, trade, competitiveness, automation and AI. A successful candidate would be able to compose a smart list of enterprise ideas and work with colleagues to conceive of creative uses of video and data. They would be equally capable of cranking out a short post on a state jobs report or organizing and executing a major investigative project. Skilled writing is a must, as is the ability to translate sometimes complex economic subjects for a general audience.

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $93,558 to $116,290 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At the L.A.
