Role : Data Center Engineer

Location : Columbus OH(Onsite)

Duration : 12Months

Pay rate : $50$55 / hr onw2

Qualification

3years experience installing and maintaining data center equipmentwithin large scale environments

Strong cablemanagement and rack and stack skills

Excellentlistening and communication skills

Troubleshooting Experience on servers networking devices and ITequipment.

Inventory management experience.Ordering receiving and shipping server parts.

Ability to prioritize work based on business needs andurgency.

Ability to communicate and writeeffectively in both verbal and written communicationmediums.

Experience taking oncall shifts andability to respond to critical events as needed.

Experience escalating issues to Sr. onsite staff andmanagement as needed.

Linux administrationknowledge / Ability to run Linux commands

Datacenter networking knowledge.

Experience in DataCenter Infrastructure projects.

Selfmotivatedwith high energy and an ability to adjust priorities and workeffectively with a team

Scripting (ex.Python / Bash / PHP) to automate repetitive tasks

VMware ESX

Duties andResponsibilities

Run automationscripts per predefined process and procedures.

Install support hardware for all devices in cabinets within asecure raisedfloor environment

Provideinstallation and termination of servers and IT equipment

Rack installation including putting racks in placecabling power up and handoff of servers to internal provisioningteams.

Troubleshooting and repair of datacenter hardware and networking infrastructure.

Hardware installation & decommission of enterprise servers andcabling infrastructure.

Provision access to theData Center User IDs for the Data Center environment

Rack and stack of data center equipment including but notlimited to servers networking devices monitoring systems and otherequipment.

Maintained a Data Center equipmentand systems including server storage routers and switches to ensureproper performance

Respond IT Ticket requestsin a ticketing environment that is used and monitored by multipleinternal service owners and teams.

Inventoryprocess order replacement parts and return failed parts asrequired.

Maintain asset inventory and updateinternal application as needed.

Documentproblem resolution summaries using an online ticketingsystem

Act with in Service Level Agreements(SLA) on the tickets assigned to you in your space.

System power supplies and cabling install troubleshootingand repair

Structured cabling labelling andtroubleshooting of fiber / copper / telecom cables.

Perform testing and labeling of cables and patch systems

Decommission life cycle of data center hardware

Execute small projects on your own and work with yourmanager in planning and executing larger local projects.

Support 3rd party vendor activities

Receive / ship data center equipment as needed.

Be accessible via cell phone and willing to work on onsiteemergency as needed.

Participate and completetraining that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gapsand learn new relevant technologies.

Documentation of activities and create / modify SOPs
