The Technical Documentation and Supplier Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in executing supplier evaluations and approvals as well as performing necessary day-to-day Quality Engineering documentation support. This position involves reviewing, editing, and reorganizing existing technical documents to ensure they align with corporate standards, maintain accuracy, and support operational efficiency. The position also involves correspondence with suppliers, domestic and international, for necessary technical documentation required to satisfy supplier approval. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, experience with engineering or manufacturing documentation, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities :
- Document Analysis and Assessment :
- Review manufacturing and engineering documentation from new and existing suppliers to ensure supplier management requirements are met.
- Assess documents for relevance, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards.
- Compiling documentation into controlled evidence for approval to satisfy supplier control and engineering report requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supplier teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) to clarify technical details and resolve discrepancies.
- Version Control and Organization :
- Maintain proper version control during the document compilation and approval process.
- Organize and archive documents in the company’s document management system.
- Quality Assurance :
- Conduct thorough reviews and audits of transferred documentation to ensure high-quality standards.
- Identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies in technical content.
- Process Improvement :
- Provide recommendations for improving supplier management and engineering processes and workflows.
- Assist in developing guidelines and best practices for future supplier management and engineering projects.
- Time Management :
- Awareness and drive to meet necessary timelines.
- Ability to multi-task to accomplish deliverables due in parallel.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any subject or 5+ years in Technical Writing, Engineering, OR a related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience editing documentation or managing corporate documentation.Past experience working with a Quality Management System (QMS)Proficiency in using document management systems and tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and [specific tools, e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, or others as relevant].Excellent written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
