Position Summary
The University at Buffalo is seeking an
Admissions-Medical Records Specialist. This position will report to the Welcome Center Supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Manage the Medical Records line, handle voicemails, and log/send records requests; duplicate, send, and scan records as needed; direct to website as appropriate.
- Communicate with outside agencies and internal departments.
- Monitor internal emergency phone line, respond promptly, assess caller needs and transfer to the appropriate department.
- Provide backup support for staff and assist departments such as Admissions, Billing, Welcome Center, Medical Records, and Prior Authorization as needed.
- Additional responsibilities assigned by management or senior leadership to support Clinical Affairs operations.

8:30 . – 4:30 .

- High school diploma.
- Prior work experience in a healthcare facility, preferably in a patient facing role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to utilize various computer programs.
- Ability to utilize various phone systems and multiple computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA standards
- Confidential, professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a higher education setting preferred.
Physical Demands Driving Requirements This position does not drive a university owned vehicle Salary Range $38,000 - $44,000 Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
