We're looking for an Engineering Director to join our team in Oakland, someone with project management experience in civil and/or transportation work, who's excited to lead impactful roadway and active transportation projects that reflect our mission and values.

As an Engineering Director at Toole Design, you'll lead the design and delivery of high-quality multimodal transportation projects that make communities safer and more connected. You'll guide civil design on everything from roadway reconstructions and urban streetscapes to signature trail corridors and active transportation networkscollaborating with clients and interdisciplinary teams from concept through construction. Along the way, you'll mentor junior staff, lead stakeholder engagement, and turn complex challenges into creative, buildable solutions. You'll also support business development across California and the West, growing as a trusted expert in a company that promotes from within. You'll lead the design and implementation of bike boulevards, road diets, intersection improvements, and other elements that make the streets and public space in our communities safer and more livable.
We are targeting a salary range of $195,000 to $235,000 plus bonuses based in individual and company profitability. Candidates with more years of experience or exceptional qualifications may fall into a different pay range.
