Job description

Autism Program Specialist II (BCBA) Job Summary The Autism Program Specialist II is the primary contact for the community concerning the added behavioral health treatment services benefit for Medi‑Cal beneficiaries. Responsibilities include program development, building programmatic efforts required by federal and state regulations, training and education to both internal L.A. Care staff and the community at large, and submission of federal and state required reports. The position requires understanding how Autism Spectrum Disorder services will be handled in claims and utilization management, reviewing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, approving Behavioral Health Treatment plans, supporting the Provider Development Manager in ensuring network adequacy and quality of care, and participating in countywide multiagency collaboration to prevent duplication of services with agencies such as Department of Education, Regional Centers, and L.A. County DMH. Duties Ensure treatment plans are followed and progress is made, guaranteeing all covered services and limitations are standardized across necessary departments as per regulation. Review comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and authorize full BHT assessment to establish timely treatment plans, assisting in continuity of care. Outreach to members, providers, and Regional Centers. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Required Associate's Degree In lieu of a degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered. Education Preferred Bachelor's Degree Experience Required: At least 4 years of experience in Behavioral Health/Health Care – Autism diagnosis, treatment, programs, regulations. Experience in face‑to‑face case management in the field. Skills Required: Understand the EPSDT process and the eligibility criteria. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills. Licenses/Certifications Required Board Certified Behavioral Analyst – Active, current and unrestricted California license. Licenses/Certifications Preferred Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Active, current and unrestricted California license. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) – Active, current and unrestricted California license. Licensed Pharmacy Doctorate / Psychology Doctorate.
