Job description

Secondary Grades Band Administrator, Operations & Compliance – Exempt Primary location: Secondary Grade Band (1 day in office, 4 days remote); 8:00‑5:00 Monday‑Friday. SUMMARY The Administrator assists the assistant principal with overall school management, ensuring that operations are successful and compliant with state, local, and federal standards. The role directs and coordinates educational and administrative activities, including curriculum oversight, discipline systems, student data evaluation, and staff support. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Demonstrate knowledge of 9‑12 content standards. Ensure conformance of educational programs to state and school board standards. Conduct research and support implementation of curriculum resources for Math, ELA, SCI, and SS. Articulate the school’s mission and vision to stakeholders. Utilize communication technologies effectively for a predominantly virtual environment. Ensure compliance with laws regarding special education and other categorical programs. Assist grade‑level principal/director in daily duties for department compliance. Address parent, student, attendance, and discipline concerns under assistant principal oversight. Communicate student attendance and discipline information to stakeholders. Serve as point of contact for ARB meetings and processes. Help establish a school‑wide discipline system, rewards system, and consequences system. Implement discipline practices with fidelity and clear expectations. Allocate supplies, equipment, and instructional materials as needed. Coordinate and implement school meetings. Conduct teacher walkthroughs and observations to improve student achievement. Provide timely feedback to teachers to enhance instructional practices. Assist in reviewing and interviewing potential candidates. Attend required training by the Georgia Department of Education and GCA. Perform other duties assigned by the Assistant Principal, Principal, or other school leaders. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise staff and teachers overseeing 3,000+ students. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplining, and conflict resolution. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Statistics & Analysis, or related field. Three (3) years of leadership experience. Three (3) years of virtual teaching experience with “Meets” or “Exceeds” expectations in all categories at each year‑end review. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES AND LICENCES Advanced Degree in Education, Statistics & Analysis, or related field (desired). GA PSC Educational Certificate for Secondary Grades in Math, ELA, SCI and/or SS (6‑12 or 9‑12). Leadership Endorsement, Certificate, or Degree. TKES/LKES credentialed. Clear Fingerprint/Background Check required. OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of school improvement process. Experience working with large data sets. Read and interpret student academic data and psycho‑educational reports. Knowledge of state and federal education laws. Familiarity with online learning environment. Experience working with diverse student populations. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and G‑Suite. Knowledge of Georgia Performance Standards and GADOE Implementation Manual. Knowledge of the SCSC Comprehensive Performance Framework. Knowledge of GaDOE CCRPI. Rapid learning and adaptation to new technologies. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Strong critical thinking, planning, and writing skills. Independent work, initiative, collaboration, and effective communication. Project management across established deadlines. Dependable under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, tact, patience, courtesy. Excellent organization, presentation, public speaking, and written communication. Strong work ethic, self‑motivation, flexibility, and adaptability. High level of organization and attention to detail. Maintain professional home office; reliable high‑speed Internet. Valid driver’s license and private transportation. Travel up to 25% of the time. Attend all required school outings, meetings, professional development sessions, conferences, and training. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced Degree in Business Administration, Education, Leadership, or related field. Advanced Excel knowledge and skills. Gifted Endorsement, ESOL Certification, or Special Education Certification. Three (3) years of experience in virtual educational environment data collection, and interpretation. K‑12 educational experience in teaching, academic intervention, or related instructional areas. Previous experience as a Learning Coach, Advisor, or Teacher at Georgia Cyber Academy. Previous online educator experience. Proficiency with web‑based tools. Experience with Infinite Campus SIS, Canvas LMS, Jigsaw Interactive, and Zoom. Bi‑lingual skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑5:00; 1 day in office, 4 days remote. Travel up to 25% of the time. Moderate office noise from computers, printers, light foot traffic. Additional in‑office days may be required during critical periods. In‑person attendance at professional development, conferences, meetings, school events, and testing sites several times per year.
