Summary
A successful candidate will play an active role in the City of College Park's existing operational success. The purpose of the position is to instruct the sport of dance and other activities as needed.
Essential Functions
Independent judgment is required to identify, select and apply the most appropriate available guidelines and procedures as well as interpret precedents. This position is responsible for teaching creative dance and engaging dance instruction for senior citizens.
- Instruct and teach dance classes.
- Being able to arrive before the scheduled teaching time to set up for classes.
- Moving and setting up equipment.
- Responsible for all handouts for classes.
- Design and teach creative dance and engaging dance instruction for senior citizens.
- Responsible for class discipline protocol.
- Documenting and reporting injury for participants.
- Must follow class lesson plans.
- Provide fun and creative environment.
- Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position.
