The Managed Care/Commercial Account Specialist is responsible for all aspects of billing, follow-up, and collection activity for claims to primary, secondary, and/or tertiary payors. The position performs duties related to billing and collection for timely follow up, resolution of non-payment and denials, addressing billing questions, reviewing patient accounts, and follow up. The specialist is expected to keep the worklist current, meet daily productivity expectations, maintain aging under 90 days, maximize cash flow, stay familiar with current regulatory requirements, and handle electronic and hard copy billing and UB04 billing formats. Responsibilities Manage billing and follow-up activities for claims to primary, secondary, and/or tertiary payors. Monitor and resolve non-payments and denials; address billing questions and review patient accounts. Maintain current worklists, meet daily productivity targets, and keep aging under 90 days; maximize cash flow. Ensure familiarity with current regulatory requirements and UB04, electronic and hard copy billing formats. Qualifications 2 years of recent Medicare Billing experience – Acute Care Hospital Knowledge of medical terminology Understanding of UB04 claim form, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9, and ICD-10 Codes Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel High school diploma Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHLB roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHLB in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
