Join to apply for the Sr Data Engineering Architect, Manager role at Avanade . Our Data & AI team focuses on helping clients transform their business with the latest AI and data technologies. This role involves leading solution architecture across data platforms, reporting, self-service analytics, real time intelligence and AI engineering to deliver high-value business outcomes.

Using modern data platforms, visualizations, advanced analytics, machine learning, IoT / Digital Twins and applied intelligence, we help clients gain business insights to optimize operations, drive innovation, and enable empowered decision making.

As a Lead Solution Architect within our Data & AI Practice, you will engage in solutioning and support on strategic opportunities, intervene in high-risk deliveries, and shape strategic direction for data platforms and related capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead solution architecture and provide technical leadership on client projects, shaping deals, propositions, plans and roadmaps, and producing design artifacts.
  • Support Avanade's sales process by designing high-level solutions, estimates and contractual details for client proposals in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Coach and mentor more junior colleagues within the technical community; provide guidance across the team and organization.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into audience-appropriate language and value-based outcomes for senior business stakeholders, technology leaders and internal sales teams.
  • Engage with clients and sales teams early to support origination, requirements capture, and solutioning; participate in deal reviews and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with Data & AI leadership to shape current and future offerings, accelerators, and background IP to support GTM activities.
  • Drive best practices and methodologies for AI development, including data management, model training, fine-tuning and deployment.
  • Lead development of data and analytics platforms, real-time intelligence and reporting solutions using Python, SQL, Microsoft Azure Data Services, Fabric and Databricks.
  • Identify cross-industry, large-scale data modernization opportunities and deliver Data Migration, Automation Migration, Visualization / Reporting and Governance initiatives.
  • Support multi-year engagements and strong Managed Services for Data & AI offerings.

Qualifications

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft and Databricks; experience in Data, Applied Intelligence, Automation, IoT and related technologies.
  • Aware of channels to market and how to operate in a Microsoft and partner ecosystem to ensure Customer Success.
  • High energy and intent to help clients navigate the fast-moving AI industry, product and service evolution.
  • Experience creating technical visions, high-level architectures, and delivery roadmaps for large programs involving AI concepts, with emphasis on scalability across enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of responsible data platform and migration principles, regulatory frameworks, risk management and rapid delivery of impactful solutions.
  • Ability to create design artifacts and present them for architectural forums involving multi-disciplinary stakeholders from engineering to executive leadership.
  • Deep understanding of modern Data & AI capabilities (structured / unstructured data analysis, streaming data, IoT, AI, GenAI and related analytics).
  • Experience designing and delivering large-scale Data Platform solutions using Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Fabric, Cloud Scale Analytics, etc., with attention to performance, security and reliability.
  • Comfortable engaging in sales and business development activities with clients.

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success in consultative / complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, and implementation of highly distributed applications; experience with large enterprise cloud data projects.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to lead remote teams and influence stakeholders; collaborative and relationship-building mindset.
  • Resilient, adaptable, flexible; humble leadership and strong negotiation skills.
  • Passionate about tech and client advisory; strong desire to continuously learn and apply new AI capabilities.
