Fixed Asset Technician (Purch/Proc)

Inventory Control And Fixed Asset Management
Maintains inventory control and oversees all fixed asset tracking procedures across the district. This role ensures physical equipment, such as technology, vehicles, and school property, is properly logged, tagged, inventoried, and retired in compliance with district and state standards.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Log new equipment and property into the District Finance Accounting System's Fixed Assets module
- Review purchase requisitions to ensure fixed asset items are assigned correct accounting codes
- Using the software to calculate asset lifespans, track depreciation schedules, and prepare routine reconciliation summaries.
- Utilizes software applications to optimize accounting, reconciling, reporting, and communication functions
- Schedule and conduct regular physical inventories and internal checks across district sites.
- Coordinate barcode tagging for new capital and stewardship assets
- Coordinate surplus process for retiring, selling, or disposing of equipment
- Maintain property control guidelines to protect district assets and ensure compliance with district, state and federal rules.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required include:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Level I Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
- Competency in basic computer use, database entry, and Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, and spreadsheets).
- Read and interpret general documents such as handbooks, procedural manuals, and policy updates.
- Write standard correspondence and communicate clearly and professionally
- Perform basic practical mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals for inventory and financial tracking
- Follow multi-step written and verbal instructions
- Research and resolve everyday inventory discrepancies or technical tracking questions with minimal supervision.

Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
