Job description

Worker Type: Student Job Post End Date: 10/18/2026 Start Date: January 2026 Location: Toledo, OH Length of Term: 4 Months About This Opportunity Are you looking for an exciting Co‑Op/Internship opportunity full of meaningful, diverse, and challenging assignments working alongside industry leading professionals? You will be part of a driven, and collaborative team completing important projects while receiving the mentorship, knowledge, and experience to develop the skills you need to build an exciting career. What You’ll Do Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to but they may include: Chemical Engineering – Process/Process Controls/Environment – Analyze process, environmental, and safety data to support performance improvements. Assist with process monitoring, troubleshooting, and engineering projects. Support EH&S and process safety compliance through audits and documentation. Collaborate with teams to support operations, reporting, and continuous improvement. Mechanical Engineering – Fixed & Rotating Equipment/Projects – Support equipment reliability through inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning. Assist with equipment design, repairs, modifications, and capital projects. Analyze operational and maintenance data to improve asset performance. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and vendors to execute projects safely and efficiently. Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering – Electrical/Instrumentation/PLC – Support electrical and control system reliability through testing and troubleshooting. Assist with the design, installation, and upgrade of electrical and instrumentation systems. Collect and analyze data to support system performance and maintenance activities. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to execute projects and field support. Accounting & Finance – Support accounting and financial reporting activities using SAP and other systems. Assist with month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. Use Excel and analytical tools to develop reports and identify trends. Provide financial insights to support business decisions and performance evaluation. Supply Chain Management – Support procurement, sourcing, and contract management activities. Analyze supply chain and inventory data to identify cost‑saving opportunities. Assist with inventory control, material planning, and procure‑to‑pay processes. Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to support projects and business objectives. Who You Are Legally authorized to work in the U.S. full‑time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa). Available to begin work in January 2027. Ability to work well in a team environment. Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel. Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision‑making skills. We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement. Education Must be enrolled at an accredited post‑secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full‑time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post‑secondary co‑op or internship program for the duration of the work term. Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post‑secondary institution may also be considered. New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities. Working Conditions May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc. Benefits A multi‑discipline program with meaningful, hands‑on work experience. Opportunity to present work‑term learnings to the Cenovus Leadership team. Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum relocation payment to assist with relocation expenses. Candidates must have their own means of transportation as there is no public transportation in field locations.
