Premium Billing Rep II
The Premium Billing Rep II is responsible for performing premium billing functions that involve increased complexity and require a higher level of knowledge, analysis, and judgment within established guidelines. This position processes premium billing transactions, researches and resolves billing discrepancies, maintains accurate billing records, and provides timely and professional service to internal and external customers. The role works collaboratively with internal departments to support billing accuracy, department operations, and workflow continuity.
Process premium billing transactions, including payments, adjustments, and account updates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing records
Research, analyze, and resolve billing discrepancies, including reconciliation of billing, eligibility, and payment variances
Review and maintain accurate account information and documentation within billing systems according to established procedures
Support monthly premium invoice preparation and assist with identifying and resolving billing-related issues
Respond to premium billing inquiries from internal and external customers by phone, email, and in-person interactions in a professional and timely manner
Coordinate with internal departments to resolve account-related issues and maintain billing accuracy
Maintain documentation to support reporting, compliance, and audit readiness
Apply knowledge of billing processes and procedures to identify issues, recommend solutions, and support operational efficiency
Provide backup support for billing functions and perform other related duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of recent customer service and/or billing-related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving percentages, ratios, and account balances
Ability to use a ten-key machine by touch
Familiarity with computerized accounting and billing systems
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
Ability to learn, adapt to, and effectively use billing systems, tools, and processes
Ability to analyze information, resolve discrepancies, and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines
Associate degree
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
Experience with premium billing, healthcare billing, or related financial processes
Eligible to work from home subject to management approval
