This role takes a proactive approach to identifying risk, implementing practical solutions, and ensuring consistent execution of environmental, health, and safety standards across all sites. By combining strong partnerships, data-driven insights, and scalable EHS programs, the Specialist helps reduce incident frequency, minimize risk exposure, and elevate overall safety and environmental performance across a fast-paced, multi-site operation.In long, as the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will be responsible for:Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsManaging site-level permits and ensuring all operations meet regulatory requirementsLeading OSHA and non-OSHA inspections, ensuring audit readiness, timely responses, and closure of corrective actionsDesigning, implementing, and continuously updating EHS training programs and curriculumManaging training databases, schedules, and compliance reporting to ensure completion across all sitesPartnering with leadership to evaluate and improve training effectiveness and alignment with business needsOverseeing and conducting regular EHS inspections across Reconditioning Centers and dealership locationsReviewing inspection findings, escalating risks, and driving issue resolution with key stakeholdersPerforming root cause analyses on safety incidents and recurring issues, and implementing corrective and preventive actionsManaging EHS vendors, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for improved service delivery and cost efficiencyAdministering driver and drug compliance programs, including reviewing motor vehicle records and drug testing resultsLeading incident investigations, claims management, and risk mitigation efforts to reduce repeat incidentsAnalyzing trends in claims and safety data to proactively address systemic risks and lower total cost of risk (TCOR)Monitoring environmental and external risk factors (e.g., weather), proactively communicating potential impacts to leadershipTracking key EHS metrics and delivering actionable, data-driven insights to leadership teamsSo What Kind of Folks Are We Looking For?Strong communicator who can influence and collaborate across multiple teams and leadership levelsProactive problem-solver with a keen eye for identifying risks before they escalateHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across sitesAnalytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable safety improvementsAccountable and results-driven, with a focus on continuous improvementComfortable working in fast-paced, multi-site operational environmentsPassionate about safety culture and creating safe, compliant workplacesThe Specifics.2–5 years of hands-on experience in environmental health and safety within manufacturing, industrial, or corporate environmentsBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related engineering/science fieldNice to HaveOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credentialLean or Six Sigma certification or experienceExperience supporting multi-site operations or automotive/retail environmentsSo What About the Perks?
