Location: Jacksonville, FL (Local candidates only – no relocation available) We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting operations for a growing manufacturing organization. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, general ledger management, month‑end close, internal controls, compliance, and developing a high‑performing accounting team. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with a strong background in audit and corporate accounting who enjoys improving processes, ensuring financial accuracy, and partnering with leadership to support business objectives. Responsibilities Lead the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, financial reporting, and payroll oversight. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes. Prepare and review accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee account reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data. Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase operational efficiency. Review financial results, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to leadership. Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment. Support special projects and other finance initiatives as needed. Qualifications Active CPA license required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Must currently reside in the Jacksonville, FL area. No relocation assistance is available. 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and/or audit experience. Experience leading accounting teams in a corporate environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes. Experience managing month‑end and year‑end close. Advanced proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms. Background in process improvement and internal control enhancements.
