Job description

Senior Product Manager: Finance Systems

Join Axon and be a Force for Good. At Axon, we're on a mission to Protect Life. We pursue society's most critical safety and justice issues with an ecosystem of cutting-edge devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities, and each other. Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging, and deeply rewarding. Here, you'll take ownership and drive real change. You'll grow constantly as you solve meaningful problems for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

Join Axon's Business Solutions team as a Business Solutions Architect / Product Manager responsible for Axon's Finance Systems portfolio. This role owns delivery and ongoing product management for critical finance platforms that support close, consolidation, revenue recognition, compliance, and financial reporting. In the near term, you will lead two high-visibility initiatives: the implementation of Axon's Finance & Accounting Consolidation platform and a major RevStream upgrade. Over time, you will operate as the product owner for assigned finance systems, shaping roadmaps, prioritizing investments, and ensuring measurable business outcomes across Finance. You will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations, Tax, IT, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture. You own what gets delivered and why; technical teams own how it is built.

What You'll Do

Location: This role is based out of our Seattle, WA office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesday through Friday, with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays. We believe connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to support meaningful teamwork and mentorship. Reports to: Director, BSA Direct Reports: None

Product & Program Leadership

  • Serve as the Product Manager and Delivery Lead for Axon's Finance Technology ecosystem, including consolidation, revenue management, close automation, financial reporting, and enterprise finance platforms.
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation and modernization of Finance Systems, including requirements analysis, solution design, technical roadmap development, platform configuration, data migration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Own the Finance & Accounting Consolidation platform implementation, including business process design, financial data modeling, hierarchy management, integration requirements, security model definition, and system adoption.
  • Drive technical delivery of RevStream upgrades and revenue systems enhancements, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements and integration with enterprise ERP and reporting platforms.
  • Translate complex accounting, finance, tax, and regulatory requirements into detailed functional specifications, technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, and third-party vendors to design scalable solutions, manage technical dependencies, and ensure platform performance and reliability.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), release management, cutover planning, and production deployment activities.
  • Evaluate system architecture, platform capabilities, integration patterns, and technical tradeoffs to support long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Ensure GAAP, statutory reporting, tax, Pillar 2, consolidation, and revenue recognition requirements are embedded within system designs, data structures, controls, and reporting frameworks.

Product Ownership & Governance

  • Serve as Product Owner for assigned Finance Systems, accountable for roadmap prioritization, platform strategy, system health, and ongoing optimization.
  • Establish governance processes for finance master data, chart of accounts structures, financial hierarchies, metadata management, security roles, and data quality controls.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Engineering teams to define integration strategies, API requirements, data flows, and technical architecture decisions across finance platforms.
  • Drive enterprise-wide data governance initiatives supporting financial reporting accuracy, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Define and monitor system KPIs including performance, scalability, adoption, data integrity, and operational efficiency metrics.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities leveraging workflow technologies, business rules engines, integrations, and analytics platforms to improve operational efficiency and internal controls.
  • Support technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex finance system issues impacting business operations.
  • Communicate technical recommendations, implementation strategies, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs to Finance, IT, and executive leadership teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in Finance Systems, Enterprise Applications, Product Management, ERP/EPM implementations, Business Systems, or related technical disciplines.
  • Deep expertise in financial close, consolidation, revenue recognition, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and financial systems architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale Finance Systems implementations involving system configuration, integrations, data migrations, testing, and production deployments.
  • Experience with enterprise finance platforms such as OneStream, Oracle EPM, Workiva, BlackLine, RevStream, Hyperion, Anaplan, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, relational data models, data governance frameworks, and systems integration concepts.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and cross-functional business stakeholders to deliver complex enterprise solutions.
  • Technical proficiency with ERP and analytics platforms including D365 Finance & Operations, Snowflake, Power BI, Sigma, SQL, and enterprise reporting technologies.
  • Strong product management capabilities, including roadmap ownership, backlog prioritization, stakeholder alignment, UAT leadership, release planning, and phased delivery execution.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical and business requirements and translate them into scalable system solutions.
  • Ability to operate independently on ambiguous, high-impact initiatives while balancing strategic priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to present technical recommendations, business cases, and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, outcome-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.
