Job description

Server — hed NYC

hed NYC is a modern Thai dining experience in West Chelsea, offering a refined, heritage-driven approach to Thai shared dining. We pair a seasonal five-course tasting progression with a globally curated wine program, in a warm, plant-filled dining room with garden views. We're looking for a Server who can match that level of craft on the floor.

What You'll Do

  • Guide guests through our five-course tasting menu and à la carte offerings with genuine warmth and confidence
  • Recommend wine pairings alongside our Sommelier-curated list, tailored to each table's palate and the evening's menu
  • Anticipate guest needs throughout multi-course service, keeping pacing smooth from first course to dessert
  • Communicate seamlessly with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timing and course flow
  • Uphold hed NYC's service standards for private dining events and nightly service alike
  • Maintain deep knowledge of ingredients, preparations, and allergen considerations across the menu

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience serving in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment
  • Working knowledge of wine — varietals, regions, and food pairing principles; comfortable discussing the list with guests and taking cues from our Sommelier program
  • Poise under pressure during a full, multi-course dining room
  • Strong communication and teamwork across FOH and BOH
  • A genuine interest in Thai cuisine and hospitality that feels personal, not scripted
  • Flexibility for evening, weekend, and event shifts (Full/Part Time)

Compensation
$17.00/hour + tips (estimated $300-$500+/week in tips based on current averages)
