Overview The Department of Neurology at UT Health San Antonio seeks a full-time faculty neurologist to serve as Chief of the Movement Disorders Division. The Chief will advance the division’s clinical, educational, and research missions to optimize patient access and faculty productivity, improve patient experience, increase extramural research funding, and support medical student, resident, and fellow education. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Chief will recruit and foster faculty and trainees, strengthen collaborative departmental and hospital partner relationships, enhance outreach activities, and engage local and regional community physicians. They will develop clinical protocols, clinical pathways, and outcome measures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of care. The Chief will lead the Division to the next level in clinical care, research, and training, supervising a team of academic neurologists providing inpatient and outpatient care, education, and cutting-edge research in a collegial atmosphere. The candidate will participate in the care of movement disorders patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities Recruit and foster faculty and trainees; strengthen collaborations with departmental and hospital partners; engage local and regional community physicians. Develop clinical protocols, pathways, and outcome measures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of care. Lead the Division in clinical care, research, and training; supervise a team of academic neurologists providing inpatient and outpatient care. Educate medical students, residents, and fellows; contribute to research and scholarly activities. Participate in inpatient and outpatient care of movement disorders patients. Qualifications MD or DO degree with completion of a neurology residency; fellowship training in movement disorders. Eligibility for licensure in Texas; board-eligible or board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.
