Medical Director - Infectious Disease

Overview

Medical Director - Infectious Disease at Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Director of Infectious Disease to lead clinical strategies and innovation across our infectious disease testing portfolio.

In this role, you'll bring deep expertise in infectious diseases and clinical diagnostics to shape and advocate for Quest Diagnostics' strategy for new test development, clinical quality, regulatory approval, and guide commercial teams with scientific insights.

You'll be a key voice across Clinical Franchises, R&D, regulatory, operations, and marketing. You will advocate to ensure our diagnostics help patients get faster, more accurate answers when they need them most.

This position will reside in or near one of the Quest Diagnostics Regional Labs located within the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for infectious disease assays from development through launch
• Partner with Regulatory and R&D teams on submissions (FDA, CLIA, CAP) and clinical validations
• Author Abstract and White Papers, weigh in on design of result reporting
• Serve as a trusted medical advisor to internal teams, healthcare providers, and external partners
• Support scientific communication, education, and medical marketing initiatives
• Identify new trends in infectious disease diagnostics and drive innovative projects
• Experience with driving change management and supporting technology roll outs
